Pinto League Games Are Still On!!!!

As of noon today (Sunday), we are still on for our Pinto games. Obviously, we are just hanging on and some rain may roll in. Please note, it is cold today so you might want consider a jacket for your child.

Important: Please make sure a parent stays at the game today. There is a chance we could begin play and then run into some rain. If we run into rain during the game, we will need to suspend play. Everyone would then need to leave the fields for home. e.g. game starts at 1:30 and rain starts at 1:45 suspending play - your child then needs to leave the field at 1:45 not 3:00.

Thanks,

Andy, Scott and Bob
Pinto Commissioners

10-year-old tryouts will be OUTDOORS

Today's second day of 10-year-old travel tryouts will be held outside, rain or shine. We find it is critical to be able to see players perform outdoors, on a true baseball diamond, in order to properly gauge their abilities.

IMPORTANT INFO:
-Be sure to have your child arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled slot time. That means the first shift (M-Z) should be there no later than 1:15 and the second shift (A-L) no later than 2:45.
-The tryouts will be based at diamond #5 at the Winnetka fields.
-Every child should be dressed appropriately for playing in the possible rain.
-Every child should be wearing a protective cup.

Thanks,
KWBA Bulldog Travel Committee
Pinto League - Play Ball! As of 10:00 AM all Pinto League games are on. If we get any rain, please be sure to check back to the weather blog. Hopefully the rain will hold off this afternoon.

Reminder about weather hotline protocols

Good morning, everyone. The sun is shining and fields look like they're in good shape for today.

However, we want you to remember the way KWBA policy works. We follow a "no news is good news" policy. So, in general, we will not update this weather blog if field conditions are good. We will only use this blog to notify you of closures and delays.
  • On weekdays, we post by 3:30 p.m.
  • On Saturdays, with three sets of game times, postings may vary. If 9:00 a.m. games are impacted, we'll try to get the blog updated between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.
  • On Sundays, with the first games at noon, posts should be up by mid-morning.
Thanks!

Northfield Park District Update: #2 and #3 are ok, a little moist but should be fine for practice. We worked hard on #1 and it may dry out by 5pm but if you can have the coaches use their judgment there that would be best, outfield is ok if nothing else. I left a rake inside the dugout of #1 just in case.

Welcome to the 2010 KWBA Baseball Season

This webpage will be your source for daily weather information, as it relates to KWBA baseball. This new blog will replace the current phone system. Be sure to bookmark this page! There will also be a link to this page on the homepage of the KWBA website: www.kwba.org

In the past, our weather coordinators and commissioners often waited until all the information was gathered from each park district (Kenilworth, Winnetka and Northfield) before updating the weather hotline. Now, with this blog, information will be posted as soon as it is available. This should make everyone's lives easier.

To further help out, we encourage you to subscribe to this blog, using the box on the right. You will receive a daily email, some time between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., keeping you informed about the day's field availability.

Thanks!
David Wartik
KWBA Webmaster

P.S. Feel free to also click the "subscribe" link at the bottom of the page. This will create a Live Bookmark (RSS feed) in your web browser. You can never have too many bases covered!
